Winter Solstice Restorative Flow + Yoga Nidra, The Yoga of Sleep

Yoga Nidra is sometimes described as the state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. Think of it like a combination of your favorite restful yoga pose and mental relaxation. We’ll have a brief discussion about the benefits and how to use the practice at home.

We’ll move very gently in a restorative flow, then we’ll finish with a nice, long, warm and supportive Nidra practice so you can float home on a cloud of relaxation. Join us and our amazing community to practice together.

We’ll focus on the yoga you know and love, plus a deeper dive into taking your practice into your home spaces. We’ll offer accessible and depthbuilding guided meditations, in addition to curated daily content through both your workbook and emails- so you don’t have to find resources yourself. Most of all, we’ll build a community of like-minded folks to offer support, camaraderie, and connection as you grow.

In-Studio Meditation

We’re so excited to invite you to join us for in-studio meditation once per month! We’ll still host our daily meditations via Zoom, this is an opportunity for us to gather, have some time for questions about your meditation practice, learn a little, and of course practice meditation as a sangha (community).  This session will start with 10-15 minutes of very gentle movement to help us get ready for meditation, then we’ll have a short teaching and discussion on the Bramaviharas, and end with, at least, 30 minutes of meditation. Reminder, you don’t need to have meditation practice to join! If you'd like to learn more about The Bramaviharas, check out our Youtube! We’ll always give many options so you can find comfort and resourcing as you practice. We can't wait to welcome you into our cozy space for this special in-studio meditation class.  This class is free to members, with regular drop in pricing- you can use class packs! Dial Up, Dial Down, Dial In: Deepening Your Practice Workshop

Immerse yourself in Flow State by learning to balance effort and ease in your yoga practice!

Have you ever had one of those yoga classes where suddenly you were in Savasana and you could swear you've only been in your 60-min class for 20 minutes?? This is Flow State! In Flow State, when we're just 'in the zone', we can lose sense of time (in the best way). It offers intrinsic value and enjoyment in the experience itself, and our mind and body come together so we're very present and grounded.
Taught by Larissa and Abs, this Funky Buddha workshop is all about learning skills you can build into any yoga practice, so you can find your Flow State: that balance of effort and ease that brings you peace of mind.
You'll learn how to:
  • Dial UP: Add more strengthening or challenging options for your yoga poses.
  • Dial DOWN: Add more support and ease.
  • Dial IN: Learn what your body needs, moment to moment, and build skills to make stride toward your personal goals.

In-Studio Meditation | Self Compassion

Arm Balances Workshop

Taught by Larissa, this Funky Buddha Yoga workshop is all about adding strength, coordination and a nice challenge (of body and mind) to your practice using Arm Balances.

This workshop is great for all levels, as we'll work into Arm Balances with gradual steps.

In this workshop we will begin in supported postures like standing, propped near a wall, or on our backs. This way we can work on the mechanics and fundamentals that'll provide access to benefits like strength, coordination, and much more, before adding the element of balancing on your hands or forearms. Once we have some mechanics down, we'll play with gravity! You can practice lifting one toe at a time - no rush, just play.

If you are already comfortable with all your toes off the ground, you'll learn a few new arm balance variations, ways to support your wrists and hands, and find new core awareness and stability, to flip your base more often with ease!

We invite you to play with us on Friday, April 12th from 6-8:30pm at the Forest Hills studio, as we flip arm balances on their head (and back, and feet, and whatever other fun things we can think of!)

Immersion Weekend

Join us for two immersive days of yoga bliss!

This is a great way to kick-off your #GYPChallenge, as each session counts for 3 classes!

Day One: Friday, May 3rd – 6-8:30p | Myofascial Releasing with Jen

The first part of this immersion workshop is allllll about taking care of your body, which cares for your mind too! You’ll learn how to use tools like a tennis ball, a block, and your own hands to move tension out of your body, and you might discover places in your body you didn't even know needed releasing. We’ll warm up with fun yoga movements, spend most of our time working out body tension, and end with a nice long savasana. 

If you’ve taken a self-myofascial session with us before, we invite you again! Jen always has some amazing tips to share, and the main goal of this is the care and tending you may receive as you roll away tension from your amazing earth home, your body. 

Join us for a great warm up, a nice long tension releasing session for your body, and rest and restoration for your mind. This is for YOU! <3 

Day Two: Saturday, May 4th – 12:30-3p | Change Your Perspective: Inversion Edition

For our second Immersion day, we’re flipping into Inversion play! How fun! Going upside-down is good for our blood circulation and lymphatic system, builds strength and coordination in our muscles, strengthens our vestibular system, and has many other benefits

We will flow, explore, and learn the necessities to gain more confidence in including inversions in your practice.  

Wherever you are on your yoga journey, this workshop is for you! Those of you that feel confident in your inversions will have an opportunity to dial in to some of the nuances of your favorite gravity-defying poses and learn some new skills to take your flying to the next level. 

Get ready to breathe, move safely and confidently, take a foot (or feet!) off the ground, and have a blast.

We’ll follow up this fun upside-down play with a gentle, guided meditation to allow your new perspectives to settle in your muscle memory. Ending with deep rest, in savasana, will round out our afternoon of yoga. We can’t wait to share and grow with you! :) 

This Immersion Weekend is $39 per session, full weekend $69 for members; $49 per session, full weekend $89 for nonmembers.
